MAYFAIR - A large quantity of heroin and fentanyl caused a hazmat situation in Mayfair, leaving one man dead, and a baby hospitalized, according to the DA's office, who say a woman is being charged for the alleged drug conspiracy.Authorities say around 10:35 a.m.

on Friday, the fire department responded to a report of an unresponsive man in the basement of a property on the 4000 block of Teesdale Street.

Police say the man, who has not yet been identified, and the basement were covered in a white powdery substance later identified by officials as heroin and fentanyl.Nearly 2 kilograms of heroin and fentanyl, along with cash, identification and cell phones were recovered from the home, according to the DA's Office.

The Department of Homeland Security and Philadelphia Fire Department were also called to the scene due hazardous materials. Medics pronounced the man dead on scene and police were called in, according to officials.

Reginald Maclaren was arrested and is facing a first-degree murder charge. He contacted the Englewood Police Department in Colorado to inform the agency that his wife and adult daughter were murdered. Maclaren told authorities he believed he knew the suspect and a hammer was used in the attack, according to a release from Englewood police. Officers arrived at the scene and found Maclaren inside the apartment. While in the home, police found two people in large trash cans on the floor of the living room/kitchen area.Police said both women had substantial injuries and had died. Landlord-tenant officer shoots woman during eviction notice in North Philadelphia, police say

PHILADELPHIA - A woman is in critical condition after an eviction quickly escalated into a shooting at home in North Philadelphia Wednesday morning.Investigators say a Philadelphia County Courts Officer was serving an eviction notice to a husband and wife on the 2100 block of North College Avenue when at least one shot was fired.The officer shot the 35-year-ol woman in head, according to authorities. Shooting in Southwest Philadelphia leaves 24-year-old man dead, police say

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on the streets of Southwest Philadelphia on Wednesday morning. According to authorities, the shooting took place on the 200 block of South Redfield Street just after 9:30 a.m. Officials say a 24-year-old man was shot once in the head and five times throughout his body.
