The union health ministry said that 75% of the new confirmed cases are concentrated in 10 States/UTs.Maharashtra continues to top this list.

The state has alone contributed more than 21,000 followed by Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka with more than more than 7,000 and 6,000 cases respectively.The government said that 1,129 deaths have been registered in the past 24 hours.

Premier Doug Ford says he is declaring a state of emergency in Ontario and will enact emergency orders to end the protests that have crippled Ottawa for the last two weeks and have recently blocked the land border crossing in Windsor.
