Covid outbreak closes Symington Primary as South Ayrshire cases continue to rise

South Ayrshire school has tonight been closed after a Covid outbreak in its classrooms.Symington Primary has been shut down following an 'urgent decision' by NHS Ayrshire & Arran's Incident Management team.Both the school and its early years centre will remain closed for a period of 10 days.All siblings of children identified as close contacts of positive Covid cases are also being told to stay off school and isolate.Classes are expected to resume on Monday, June 21 - the final week of term before the summer holidays.It comes with Covid numbers continuing to rise in Ayrshire as the county posts some of Scotland's highest case numbers.We told earlier this week how a total of 20 South Ayrshire schools have been the subject of Covid contact.
