Gateway centres in Eccles, Swinton, Pendleton and Walkden and Broughton Hub – ‘one stop shops’ for council services – all closed on Friday, March 20.

Within 72 hours, before the Prime Minister announced a full lockdown on Monday (March 23), Salford council had set up a new helpline for people needing financial assistance, welfare advice or any support while shielding.
