COVID-19 cases back down, an easing up of current restrictions isn’t looking likely.It’s been nearly two weeks since the Alberta government introduced new, targeted public health restrictions, yet cases continue to steadily climb with 1,735 new infections reported Monday.

Alberta may receive early COVID-19 vaccines as province confirms additional 1,735 cases According to Dr. Stephanie Smith, it’s not a matter of whether the curve bends back down — more a question of whether it continues to trend upward.Smith said if the restrictions were enough, we’d be seeing a “more significant” decline in cases already.

She added that while the incubation period for COVID-19 is 14 days, most people start to show symptoms around five to seven days after.
