Covid-19: No further deaths, 18 additional cases

There have been no further deaths from Covid-19, the Department of Health has confirmed. The total number of deaths here from the virus remains at 1,741.

Another 18 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been reported, bringing the total number of cases here to 25,527. Earlier today, Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan said the Government will look at introducing measures to improve the country's responsiveness during the pandemic, including targeted testing of passengers at airports.

He said further protocols will need to be introduced, including testing in airports. Meanwhile the body representing publicans has strongly criticised images that have emerged on social media of people drinking on the streets of Dublin city centre last night.
