COVID-19 deaths in Perth and Kinross reach grim milestone

Perth and Kinross who have died from COVID-19 has reached a grim milestone. According to the National Records of Scotland, a single death that was recorded in the region last week mentioned the coronavirus on the death certificate - bringing the total in the region to 250 overall.

But the overall situation remains optimistic, and the week beginning March 15 was the first since the middle of October when no COVID deaths were recorded across Perth and Kinross.

It also comes as the infection rate drops following a spate of outbreaks.The rate had reached 95.4 per 100,000 on March 19.However, the latest figures from Public Health Scotland suggest an infection rate of 48.7 per 100,000.From March 21 to March 27, 74 cases were recorded, or 2.2 per.
