Covid-19 cases rising in West Lothian as record hit for number of cases nationally

Sign up to the weekly West Lothian Courier newsletter for the latest West Lothian news and sport.It has been revealed West Lothian is currently above the national average for cornavirus cases.In total there have been 58 positive tests in the county in the latest week from September 16 - 22, a rise of 30 cases from the previous week.This meant that there were 32 people infected per 100,000 in West Lothian but the national average for Scotland is 23 per 100,000.Positive tests keep on returning and the 486 cases reported in Scotland yesterday (September 24) and 558 today represent the biggest daily jumps since the pandemic started back in March.Yesterday a further 57 new positive tests were returned in Lothian, with seven people currently in.
