Covid-19 cases now confirmed at 369 Greater Manchester schools since the start of the academic year

Manchester Evening News only able to confirm cases after being alerted by parents - it's likely there are many more. Yesterday we revealed how the number of schools reporting confirmed Covid cases had topped 350.

Today a further 15 have been confirmed across the region, bringing the total to 369. The figure comes after we revealed how children from two different primary schools have been told to isolate after a teaching assistant working across both sites tested positive.

The member of staff had been teaching in three separate year groups at Thornham St James' CE Primary School in Oldham, as well as two classes in another local school.
