Ayrshire's coronavirus death rate is the second-highest in Scotland, figures released today show.The region's total death rate per 100,000 population (163.8) is second only to Lanarkshire (165.3) and higher than Greater Glasgow and Clyde (158.0), data from Public Health Scotland has revealed.In the past 24 hours, NHS Ayrshire & Arran has recorded four more coronavirus deaths.
The region's total for the pandemic now stands at 605.The news emerged as the health board reported 64 fresh cases with the area's total now at 14,060.But Ayrshire hospital numbers are at the lowest level since January 6 with 194 patients in the NHS Ayrshire & Arran's care with the virus — down six from yesterday.
