Covid-19: 7,005 new cases, 1,251 in hospital with virus

The Department of Health has been notified of 7,005 new cases of Covid-19, including 3,150 PCR-confirmed cases of the virus and 3,855 positive antigen tests registered through the HSE portal.

This morning, there were 1,251 people in hospitals with Covid-19 around the country, which is down 82 on the same time yesterday.

As of 11.30am today, there were 56 people in ICU with Covid-19, which represents a decrease of two from Wednesday. Meanwhile, the number of people over the age of 75 who are on hospital waiting lists, now stands at 84,000.

New data released to Sinn Féin's Health spokesperson David Cullinane shows that outpatient lists are up 36,000 on 2014 figures, with inpatient lists rising by more than 3,000 over the same period.
