Covid tests could be sent out with tickets in order to help sports fixtures go ahead this summer, it has been reported. Government officials are said to be looking at a series of measures that would help people gather en-masse at sports matches.
On-site temperature checks could be in place at grounds and lateral flow tests could be sent to fans at home ahead of big events.
The measures might be used so that big tournaments happening early in the summer, such as Wimbledon and Wembley-based Euros football fixtures, can take place in front of crowds.
One Whitehall source told The Telegraph rapid on-site testing may also be deployed. Asking fans to isolate is not thought to be part of the plans, due to its commercial unviability.
