Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has been blasted for shaking hands with the mum of the country’s most infamous drug lord – Joaquin “ El Chapo ” Guzman.

Like countless countries across the world, Mexico has promoted social distancing in a desperate attempt to stem the spread of coronavirus.

But footage has now shown the leader of the country seemingly breaking the rule to greet El Chapo’s mum Maria Consuela Loera.

In the 30-second video posted to Twitter, Loera is seen sitting in a car on a dirt road on the outskirts of Badiraguato, long seen as a stronghold of the Sinaloa Cartel.
