CORONATION Street was forced to halt production after an actor tested positive for coronavirus. The ITV soap temporarily shut down parts of the set last week to intensively clean areas of the building where the actor had been.
Filming as a whole was not affected and the soap’s stringent rules meant that no-one else had come into contact with the actor in question.
A spokeswoman for ITV confirmed the incident to the Guardian saying: “We can confirm a member of the Coronation Street team has tested positive for coronavirus. “The protocols we have in place for such an eventuality have been implemented and the individual is now self-isolating at home.” The Guardian reports that no other members of cast and crew came within two meters of the.
