(Meg Puckett, CWHF herd manager)A beloved wild stallion that was a familiar favorite among visitors to the Outer Banks of North Carolina has tragically passed. Finn, an 11-year-old stallion, was seen fighting with other stallions last Friday, according to a post published to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund (CWHF) Facebook page. Then, later that same Friday evening into Saturday morning, Finn was seen "unable/unwilling to move." Veterinarians observed that Finn’s leg was broken beyond repair and it was advised that he be euthanized to end his suffering, the Facebook post read. According to the veterinarians, there was no reason to suspect that Finn’s injuries were caused by anything human-related, such as being hit by a vehicle. "While it is a devastating loss for those of us who cared for Finn and who will miss him dearly, what happened to him is nature in its most basic, wild, and unforgiving form.

LEVITTOWN, Pa. - An arrest has been made in a deadly Bucks County hit-and-run that left a man dead more than one month ago, according to authorities. On Monday, Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub announced the arrest of 45-year-old Daniel Stephen Dietrich of Palmyra, New Jersey, in connection with the death of Jason Smith, 47. According to police, the search for the driver of a pickup truck began after the incident occurred on February 5 around 4:15 p.m. in the parking lot of the McDonald's on the 7700 block of Bristol Pike in Levittown. Authorities say 47-year-old Jason Smith was struck and killed by the driver of a Chevy Silvarado in the parking lot of a Bucks County McDonalds.

BERKS COUNTY - Pennsylvania State Police say eight individuals worked together to pull off a nearly $700 theft from a CVS store in Berks County last week.The group pulled up to the CVS on Shoemaker Avenue in Shoemakersville in three different vehicles on March 6.All eight suspects were spotted on surveillance before police say they collectively stole $676 in merchandise, mostly cosmetics.MORE HEADLINES:They then left the store and fled in their vehicles, which police say were parked far enough away that registration could not be seen.The suspected cars are said to be a black sedan, silver sedan and black SUV. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

PHILADELPHIA - A coastal storm moving across the Delaware Valley will lead to two days of wet weather in the area. FOX 29's Sue Serio says the storm is dumping rain on most of the area Monday morning as the mountains are getting hit with some snow. By the late morning, the rain will continue and linger into the afternoon. Overnight into Tuesday, wet weather will stop due to the storm's rotation over the area.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police say a woman was just trying to get off a bus when she became the victim of a stabbing in the city's Frankford section.The victim, a 44-year-old woman, was stepping off a bus on Pratt and Saul Streets just after midnight when she was stabbed in the forehead by a male suspect.She was transported to a local hospital, where she was placed in stable condition.MORE HEADLINES:Police say a 42-year-old man was taken into custody, and charges are pending at this time.

UNIVERSITY CITY - Police are investigating a crash that killed a 70-year-old man after he was struck by a car. According to police, the crash occurred on March 8, just before 8 p.m., at the intersection of Civic Center Boulevard and University Avenue. Authorities say a silver or gray SUV hit a 70-year-old man. The driver of the vehicle got out of his car and saw the 70-year-old on the ground before he got back into his car and left the area going south on University Avenue, officials say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESPolice say the victim was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

PERKASIE, Pa. - The Bucks County Fire Marshal is investigating a house fire that claimed the life of a 75-year-old woman, in Perkasie.Officials said fire crews were called to the 1300 block of Parkridge Court, in the Bucks County town, Sunday morning, just after 10:30, for a building fire.Firefighters got into the residence and found the woman dead in an upstairs bedroom. Officials say she appeared to have died from smoke inhalation.Crews spent about three and a half hours gaining control of the fire and dousing hot spots."When I had a problem, she would help me out.

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested three people for attempting to shoot dead a person in Wellampitiya.Police said that two men were arrested from Kotuwila for planning the murder, and aiding in the attempted murder.Following interrogation, the motorcyclist who was assigned to carry out the shooting was arrested in Bomiriya.The motorcycle was discovered from Borella, and the suspects will be produced in court on Monday (13).
