China's Wuhan city, the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak, has said it had revised up its total death toll by 1,290. According to state-run news channel, CCTV, Wuhan also revised up confirmed cases by 325.
Wuhan says the revision in Covid-19 deaths - now at 3,869 - and cases addresses incorrect reporting, delays and omissions of cases.
It comes after US president Donald Trump directly accused China of lying about its death toll, before yesterday launching an investigation as to whether the virus started in a Wuhan lab.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, meanwhile, said Beijing "needs to come clean" on what they know - with the source of the killer virus still a mystery.
