NEW DELHI : The Union Health ministry on Friday announced that Remdesivir drug should only be used on patients with ‘moderate to severe’ Covid-19.
The direction also mentioned that the anti-viral drug could be used on patients with no renal or hepatic dysfunction within 10 days of the onset of any symptom.
The clinical guideline also prohibited the use of the drug on patients who are not on oxygen support or in home settings. The Union health ministry issued clinical guidelines for management of the infection in adult patients on Friday.
The directive read Remdesivir has been asked to be “used in patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 and those with no renal or hepatic dysfunction within 10 days of onset of any symptom".
