EASTON, Pa. - At least 20 people have been displaced after a fire tore through more than a dozen rowhomes in Northampton County, authorities say. According to officials, the fire broke out just before 4 p.m. on the 900 block of Ferry Street in Easton. Fire crews respond to a fire damaging homes in Easton.  Officials say it took firefighters hours to extinguish the flames. At least three people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities say. Residents watch as firefighters work to extinguish flames damaging multiple rowhomes on Ferry Street in Easton.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to fire officials. This is a developing story.

The CEO of a mental health care firm has hit back at a critical watchdog report into its Stockport hospital - where three young women died within weeks last year. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) deemed child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) services at Cheadle Royal Hospital, also known as the Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, to be 'inadequate' following a recent inspection.

Lawmakers in Michigan are considering a bill to make it illegal to declaw cats, which many animal advocates and some veterinarians say impedes the felines' natural instincts to climb and scratch.House Bill 4674 would amend the state's Public Health Code to regulate certain surgical procedures performed on cats like the act of declawing. The legislation bans "an onychectomy, a partial or complete phalangectomy, or tendonectomy procedure, or any other surgical procedure that prevents normal 4 functioning of the claws, toes, or paws, on a cat." Declawing involves amputating the last bone on each of the feline's toe."If you look at your fingers, declawing would be like amputating the last section of each finger," veterinarian Louise Murray told animal rights organization, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). "If you were declawed, you would have 10 little short fingers.
