PHILADELPHIA - A man has died after he was shot and killed during a carjacking in the city's Rhawnhurst section late Sunday night. The shooting happened in the rear yard of a home at approximately 8:12 p.m. on the 2100 block of Afton Street. Police say the unidentified 62-year-old man was shot once in the right side of the abdomen.

Canada Post, Filomena Tassi polled Canadians to see how they felt about making some radical changes at the Crown corporation.Those changes include shutting down rural post offices, ending all home delivery in favour of community mailboxes, and cutting back mail delivery to three times a week.The poll was put in the field in mid-December, six weeks after Tassi was named minister for Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) and three weeks after the Crown corporation said it lost $264 million on revenue of $5.4 billion in its third quarter, the most recent quarter for which financial results are available. PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a suspect is in custody after a number of robberies that occurred at multiple SEPTA train stations Saturday. The robberies happened in the areas of 15th Street/City Hall Station and 30th Street Station on the Market-Frankford Line.Sunday night, SEPTA officials confirmed to FOX 29 that a suspect had been identified and taken into custody. Earlier Sunday, police released photos of a male who was wanted for questioning in connection to the incidents.Authorities had been investigating three similar incidents that occurred Saturday. The first took place around 2 p.m.

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has agreed to provide the required fuel stocks for power generation on Saturday (Jan. 15), Minister of Energy Gamini Lokuge said.“If fuel stocks are provided, there will be no power cuts on Saturday (15) and Sunday (16)”, the Minister noted.Whilst pointing out that the country is currently facing a severe dollar crisis, the Minister noted that the authorities are attempting to ensure an uninterrupted supply of power in order to avoid any inconveniences to the public.“However, I instructed the Ceylon Electricity Board to release the schedule of power cuts to the media,” Minister Lokuge said.According to Minister Lokuge, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has been requested to provide 15,000 tonnes of Fuel.“Close to 1500 tonnes of fuel are required to meet the daily requirement of power generation in the country, meaning 15,000 tonnes would suffice for 10-days,” he added.Minister of Energy Gamini Lokuge was hopeful that by the 22nd of this month, the failed generators at the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant could be reactivated, which would add another 300 MW of power to the National Grid.
