PHILADELPHIA - An alleged mail fraud scheme could mean prison time and up to $8.5-million-fines for three men from the Philadelphia area.Sam Wolo, 21, of Philadelphia; Bruno Nyanue, 20, of Philadelphia; and Gransae Manue, 20, of Clifton Heights are charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, aggravated identity theft, conspiracy to commit mail theft, possession of stolen mail and robbery of a postal carrier. According to the agency, the human remains were discovered in Luzerne County on November 17, 2002, on the grounds of a former coal-mining operation in Newport Township. Police say the remains have been identified as Joan Marie Dymond, who was 14 years old when she disappeared from Andover Street Park on June 25, 1969. Examination of the remains reveals that Dymond died of suspicious circumstances and lab results indicate that it is highly likely that she died in the late 1960s, troopers say. Investigators were able to identify Dymond by using DNA and comparing it to a DNA sample provided by Dymond's family, according to the agency. COLOMBO (News 1st) – Earnings from the merchandise exports increased by 10.24 % y-o-y to US$ 1,213.7 Mn in August 2022 as per the data released by the Sri Lanka Customs. According to the Export Development Board, this was mainly due to the increase in earnings from export of Apparel and Textiles.Major product sectors such as Apparel and Textiles, Tea, Rubber based products, Electrical and Electronic components, Spices and Concentrates Diamonds, Gems and Jewellery, Food and Beverages, Seafood and Ornamental fish recorded increased exports in August 2022.Strong Export Growth recorded for top 10 export markets in the period of January to August 2022. The single largest export destination of United States of America recorded over US$ 2 billion worth of exports in the period of January to August 2022 – a significant year on year increase of 21.19 % in comparison to US$ 1.9 billion recorded in 2021.Exports to United Kingdom as the second largest trading partner recorded an increase of 12.91 % to US$ 682.56 Mn during the period of January to August 2022 compared with the corresponding period of previous year.

Police: Man dies after being found walking in Ogontz with gunshot wound to the neck

PHILADELPHIA - A man has died after he was shot in the neck in Philadelphia, authorities say. According to police, officers responded to Ogontz and Stenton Avenues just before 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Officials say responding officers found a man walking in the area bleeding heavily from a gunshot wound to his neck. Witnesses told authorities that the man got out of a Buick Sedan traveling northbound on Ogontz Avenue that stopped at the intersection, and Good Samaritans rushed to try and assist him, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESPolice transported the man to Einstein Medical Center, where he was placed in critical condition and underwent surgery, Small says. Authorities say he did not survive and later died. According to Small, the Buick Sedan is still parked at the crime scene and there is blood in the driver's seat. Investigators say they are not sure if the man was driving the vehicle or driven to the location, but authorities do not believe the shooting happened in the area.
