New Delhi: The capacity utilisation of Covid-19 testing laboratories, particularly in the private sector, has been grossly sub-optimal in some states and union territories, the Centre pointed out on Wednesday.Aimed at removing all impediments in testing of Covid-19, Preeti Sudan, Health Secretary and Dr Balram Bhargava, director general, Indian Council of Medical (ICMR) on Wednesday urged the States/UTs to take immediate steps to facilitate and ramp up testing stating that ‘test-track-treat’ is the key strategy for early detection and containment of the pandemic.“States/UTs have been strongly advised to take all possible steps to ensure full capacity utilization of all Covid-19 testing laboratories in the States/UTs," said the union health.
