Investigators hope to us the information to link the shell to a gun and the person who pulled the trigger. Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said the system "enables us to interrupt the shooting cycle, stopping a shooter from doing it again and therefore reducing overall gun violence."Steele joined district attorneys from Bucks, Chester, and Delaware counties in a Wednesday afternoon press conference, with piles of spend casing heaped in front of them.

Italy this week arrested four people in connection to a 2022 robbery of a luxury watch belonging to Formula One star Charles Leclerc – and shared footage of the driver chasing after the suspects that night in his custom-made Ferrari. The robbery was reported on April 18, 2022, in Viareggio, a seaside city in Tuscany. In a statement posted on Tuesday, local police said three men and one woman had been arrested after a months-long investigation. According to local reports, Leclerc was approached by one or more fans that night asking to take pictures.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say an off-duty security guard at Philadelphia's Fashion District was shot in the leg while walking to a bus stop on Tuesday. The 39-year-old shooting victim told police that he was walking along the 800 block of Filbert Street around 7:30 when he heard a gunshot and noticed he was struck in the left thigh. Responding officers from the Philadelphia Police Department drove the victim to Jefferson Hospital where he was placed in stable condition. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESChief Inspector Scott Small told reporters the victim believed the gunshot came from a group of teens or young adults behind him that scattered in different directions. Investigators are unsure if the victim was the intended target of the shooting or if the bullet was stray. No arrests have been reported. While the victim is expected to physically recover, police fear the shooting could have been worse due to the heavy foot traffic that is normally around the Fashion District on pleasant spring nights.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and fellow city leaders shared a host of new summer programs for kids and teens designed to keep the city's youth safe. The campaign - dubbed #ItsASummerThing after the Eagles playoff motto - includes summer camps and summer jobs that will pay kids as young as 12. "Last year, especially in neighborhoods that are struggling with various issues, the kids really seem to respond to it, enjoy it and felt as if we cared about them and we cared about their neighborhood and we cared about their families," Kenney said during Tuesday's press conference. While the city is bringing back several successful programs, there are also new features in the 2023 slate of programs. This year, every summer camp in Philadelphia will have extended care until 6 p.m.

CHICAGO - The CDC is warning that people should not eat raw cookie dough amid a salmonella outbreak that has spread to 11 states.The CDC said at least 12 people have gotten sick after eating raw flour. The brand of the flour has not been identified.Illnesses have been reported in Illinois, Oregon, California, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, New York and Virginia.The CDC said that of the seven people interviewed, six (86%) reported eating raw dough or batter. Most flour is raw, even though people don't usually think of it that way.

CHICAGO - The roof of the Apollo Theatre in Belvidere, Illinois collapsed Friday night as severe weather swept through the Chicago area, killing one person and injuring dozens of others.According to reports, a concert was going on at the theater when the roof collapsed. PHILADELPHIA - A dog found abandoned and partially paralyzed after being found on SEPTA tracks in Philadelphia has finally found a forever home. The nonprofit organization Philly Rescue Angles made a public cry for help after the dog was found in December. "Someone has literally dumped this poor dog on the train tracks, he has been laying here for two days," the organization said. "He has literally been laying his body down and the train has been going over him." Lucky's spinal cord injury left him unable to use his back legs and an influx of donations helped the organization fund surgery and rehabilitation. RELATED COVERAGEAfter surgery, Lucky began recovery at a foster home as applications to adopt him piled up. Months later, one of the women who helped save his life welcomed him into her family. According to Philly Rescue Angels, the organization received hundreds of applications to adopt him when he was first posted, but once his spinal cord injury was revealed, many people backed out. "This was a long process, but we know Lucky was ghosted by these people for a reason, because now he is where he belongs," the group said on Instagram. The organization says it will continue to financially support Lucky for the rest of his life as he needs monthly medical care, prescriptions and items to help his mobility. A wishlist has been created to help his new family.
