Can you go to work with Covid-19? Rules and advice on working with coronavirus

While lockdown feels like a thing of the past by this point, many people across the UK are still contracting Covid-19. If you have taken a Covid test and it came back positive, you may be confused about whether you should still go to work or not.

It's important to note that if a test comes back positive but you have no symptoms, it is still highly likely that you are infected and can therefore pass it on to others.

According to government advice, many people with Covid-19 will no longer be infectious to others after five days. Because of this it is highly recommended that if you have a positive Covid-19 test result you should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for five days after you took the test. While there is no legal obligation to stay at home, it is highly recommended to work from home wherever possible. If you cannot work from home, the government advises that you talk to your employer about other options available to you.
