DARBY, Pa. - An employee of St. Francis Country House is facing charges after they were accused of assaulting an elderly resident earlier this week. On Monday at around 5 p.m., Darby Borough police say they were dispatched to the nursing home on Lansdowne Ave. Upon arrival, officers say they met with an employee of the nursing home who told them that a nurse witnessed a nursing assistant, later identified as Ednise Dulcio, strike a resident. Police say the incident was caught on video, and that Dulcio can be seen striking a 92-year-old resident with an open hand while the resident was sitting in their wheelchair. After speaking with the witness, police say they learned that Dulcio struck the resident prior to the incident that was captured on video. Authorities say Dulcio was arrested in her home on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m.

Rafiq Thompson of Philadelphia was charged with the murder of a pregnant woman in Upper Merion after turning himself in to authorities.  PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man who was wanted for the murder of a pregnant woman in Upper Merion on Friday has been charged after turning himself in, the Montgomery County District Attorney announced. According to officials, 38-year-old Rafiq Thompson is facing first-degree murder and related charges connected to the shooting death of 31-year-old Tamara Cornelius last week. Police say the shooting took place at an Exxon gas station before 11 p.m. on North Gulph Road and West Dekalb Pike. Officers arrived on scene and found Cornelius lying in the gas station parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities say. PREVIOUS: $5K reward offered in search for suspect accused of killing pregnant woman in Upper MerionShe was transported to Paoli Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:09 p.m., according to investigators. Officials say the investigation revealed that Cornelius and the suspect were in a prior relationship and had met up briefly before she went to have dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. According to investigators, Thompson followed Cornelius as she left the restaurant at 10:15 p.m., walked to the parking garage and then drove to the Exxon gas station. Police say as she was pumping gas when Thompson got out of the car, spoke to her and shot her. He continued to shoot her as she tried to get away, authorities say. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information on the whereabouts of Rafiq Thompson.

PHILADELPHIA - A rally to end the scourge of gun violence in Philadelphia was held Tuesday, and called special attention to the shooting death of 15-year-old Sean Toomey. Police say Toomey was shot in the head outside his family’s home in Wissinoming on March 24. He later died from his injuries at the hospital. Investigators originally said that Sean was hit by stray gunfire, but law enforcement sources told FOX 29's Kelly Rule that they believe he was shot while running from an attempted carjacking.Sources said Sean was unloading water from his father's car when two men approached him and tried to steal the car.

PHILADELPHIA - It’s not uncommon to hear about cash thefts at gas stations, but one gas station owner says they are dealing with candy thieves—and it’s getting out of control.Early Tuesday morning, just before 3:45 AM, surveillance cameras at PnP Gas on East Hunting Park Avenue say their surveillance cameras captured two people loading up bags of their candy.The store owner says when the pair tried to leave without paying for it, and realized an employee locked them in, they broke the door to escape."It’s very, very frustrating," store manager James Gill said.Philadelphia police are investigating a series of candy thefts at gas stations. Health officials are investigating 74 cases of hepatitis among children under the age of 10 across the UK as they urge parents to be alert to the signs of the illness. Delaware State Police arrest 50-year-old Richard Cook for his 8th DUI offense.  GEORGETOWN, Del. - Delaware State Police arrested a man and charged him with his eighth DUI offense after a crash on Monday. On April 11, just before 3:00 p.m., state troopers responded to an accident in Georgetown, Del. Police say when they arrived to the scene, they found a black Nissan Quest, which had overturned onto its side in a wooded area near Dupont Boulevard. Police say Richard Cook, 50, was behind the wheel and two passengers, a 49-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Bayhealth Sussex Hospital. Police conducted a DUI investigation and took Cook in to custody at the scene. After searching Cook's vehicle, police say they found 2.04 grams of marijuana, suspected liquid heroin, drug paraphernalia, 2 fixed-knife blades, and a firearm. Authorities learned that Cook's driver's license was suspended, and he had been convicted for seven prior DUI offenses. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, and other related offenses. Cook was committed on a $39,501 cash bond.

Frank Deshields, 52, of New Castle is being sought in connection to the fatal stabbing of a man outside of a New Castle motel.  NEW CASTLE, Del. - Police in Delaware are searching for a suspect accused of fatally stabbing a man outside of a motel in New Castle on Sunday. According to Delaware State Police, 52-year-old Frank Deshields is being sought by authorities. Police say troopers responded to The Super Lodge on West Avenue for a reported stabbing. According to authorities, troopers found a 45-year-old New Castle man outside of the motel with a stab wound to his upper torso. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities say. Investigators say Deshields is a suspect in the case and an arrest warrant was obtained for first-degree murder and weapon charges. The investigation is active and ongoing, according to authorities.

NEW YORK - Leniz Escobar, who went by the same ‘Diablita’ or ‘little devil’ on social media, was found guilty on all counts Monday for luring a group of young men to a wooded area in Central Islip in 2017 where they were beaten and hacked to death with machetes, knives, and tree limbs by more than a dozen members of the MS-13 gang.Escobar had told the group they were meeting to smoke marijuana, according to federal prosecutors.  She was also found guilty of obstructing the investigation into the murders by destroying evidence, warning people to flee, and lying to police. Alexander Ruiz, the only one who managed to escape by running for his life, told the jury that members of MS-13 covered their faces with sweatshirts and ordered them to get down on the ground, threatening to kill anyone who moved. Prosecutors said the motive for the attack was payback because the victims had disrespected the vicious gang on social media and allegedly were members of the rival 18th Street gang.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting in North Philadelphia that critically injured a man.Police responded to the 1600 block of North 19th Street Sunday, just after 8:30 p.m., for a reported shooting, according to officials.When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.He was rushed to Temple University Hospital and placed in critical condition.Police are investigating the incident.
