The Cabinet will hold its weekly meeting in Dublin this morning, with ministers due to be updated about Covid-19 case numbers, the booster programme and compliance issues in the hospitality sector.

It is anticipated that Minister for Housing Darragh O'Brien will seek approval for amending the Planning and Development Bill to recognise owner occupiers for the first time in planning law.

It is believed such a move would enable local authorities to specify a proportion of properties in new developments for owner occupiers.

Ministers will also consider a number of expenditure updates from departments, and a series of annual reports, including from the Attorney General for 2020.
