Boris Johnson placed millions in a second lockdown at the start of November which is due to end on December 2. Next month England will enter a three-tier system to replace the current lockdown.
However, a government source has claimed the measures will run longer than expected, and the tier system could last until April next year. The move will come in a bid to prevent the NHS overflowing.
The government source said: "Boris will not countenance hospitals overflowing like they did in Italy," reports The Sun."Nor can we get to the stage where we have to cancel operations and treatments.
