Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been told to apologise for his handling of the pandemic by the Labour leader. The call comes amid warnings the severe restrictions could last until February, with normality unlikely before April.Millions of people were forced under Tier 4 restrictions this week after Mr Johnson announced a U-turn regarding the social mixing rules over the holidays.
The move came after warnings from public health chiefs of a new Covid strain which is soaring out of control.Those under the new tier were given just hours before restrictions kicked in, it was announced on Saturday afternoon and lockdown began at 00:01am on Sunday.
