Boris Johnson has been accused of playing “fast and loose” with public health after announcing an end to rules on face coverings in England from next week.
The Prime Minister urged caution as he announced the lifting of lockdown measures in England from 19 July but caused confusion by dropping the mandatory use of face masks.
Nicola Sturgeon is expected on Tuesday to confirm that the use of facemasks will continue even after the planned lifting of final restrictions in Scotland on 9 August.
