Covid-19 cases have been recorded in Bolton in a week, according to the latest figures. In the week ending October 12, 1,003 cases were recorded in the borough.It is the first time that more than 1,000 cases have been recorded in a week since the onset of the pandemic.Although, rates are likely to have been higher during the peak in April, when only pillar 1 hospital testing was being carried out.The latest data is calculated using both pillar 1 and pillar 2 community testing.Bolton's infection rate currently stands at 348.8, meaning there are that many positive cases per 100,000 people.
In terms of Greater Manchester, its infection rate is the seventh highest, with just Trafford, Stockport and Tameside lower.
