ITV 's Billion Pound Cruises: All At Sea aired on Thursday night and horrified viewers as it revealed how widely the cruise ship industry is thought to have spread COVID-19.
The billion pound industry continued to transport passengers all around the world despite the coronavirus spreading globally.
A business reporter at the Miami Herald called Taylor Dolven has investigated how much cruise ships were responsible for spreading the virus, and she found that a fifth of all cruise ships had the virus on board, with some people calling them "floating petri dishes". "The pandemic brought the industry to its knees," she said, explaining that billions of pounds had been wiped off its value, and said 2,700 people were infected on cruise ships.
