Biden tops Trump in hypothetical election rematch, Wall Street Journal poll says

At least that’s according to a poll from The Wall Street Journal. The poll, which was conducted between August 17-25, gauged voter turnout, their stance on the current economic situation and views of political parties among several factors.

The most notable question, however, was: "Hypothetically, if the 2024 election for President were held today and the candidates were Joe Biden, the Democrat, and Donald Trump, the Republican, for whom would you vote?"Definitely voting for Biden: 46%Probably voting for Biden: 4%Definitely voting for Trump: 37%Probably voting for Trump: 7%And 6% of people who participated in the poll answered "undecided."  The slight bump for Biden may not be a huge surprise considering some of his recent successes on climate and health care legislation.

In just the past several weeks, Biden has signed into law a climate and prescription-drug package that accomplishes many of his party’s long-held objectives; Congress has sent him bills that impose strict limits on guns and set out a plan to boost U.S.

Recalled Toddleroo rotating cabinet latch -closed (CPSC) Over 100,000 cabinet latches used for childproofing are being recalled for choking hazards, officials warned Thursday. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the latching button on North States Industries’ Toddleroo rotating cabinet latches "can dislodge and detach from the cabinet latches, posing a choking hazard to young children." The recall was initiated after North States Industries received 19 reports that the latching button had dislodged or detached. UPPABABY RECALLS OVER 14,000 STROLLERS AFTER CHILD LOSES A FINGERThis includes one instance where a child reportedly gagged on a dislodged button, according to the CPSC. The affected products were available for purchase nationwide at major stores including Walmart and Bed, Bath & Beyond's BuyBuyBaby from November 2019 through August 2022. The rotating cabinet latches were also available online at northstatesind.com during that same time. The products were sold in a package of four latches, each measuring 3 13/16 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches high by 1/2 inch deep and comes with application adhesive, the CPSC said. The affected UPC numbers, 0-26107-06178-2 or 0-26107-06177-5, can be found on the bottom left-hand corner of the product packaging, according to the release. North States Industries is based in Minnesota and makes safety gates, play yards, and mats for babies and pets, according to its website. Customers can complete a refund submission form.

WASHINGTON - Fourteen of the 15 boxes recovered from former President Donald Trump's Florida estate early this year contained documents with classification markings, including at the top secret level, according to an FBI affidavit released Friday explaining the justification for this month's search of the property.The 32-page affidavit, even in its heavily redacted form, offers the most detailed description to date of the government records being stored at Trump's Mar-a-Lago property long after he left the White House and reveals the gravity of the government's concerns that the documents were there illegally.Mobile app users, click here to view the redacted affidavit"The government is conducting a criminal investigation concerning the improper removal and storage of classified information in unauthorized spaces, as well as the unlawful concealment or removal of government records," an FBI agent wrote on the first page of the affidavit in seeking a judge's permission for a warrant to search the property.The affidavit does not provide new details about the 11 sets of classified records recovered during the Aug. 8 search at Mar-a-Lago but instead concerns a separate batch of 15 boxes that the National Archives and Records Administration retrieved from the home in January.In those boxes, according to the affidavit, officials located 184 documents bearing classification markings, including 25 documents marked as top secret.
