ODESSA, Del. - A large house fire that damaged four other homes and displaced 16 people in New Castle County is under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal.The fire broke out early Saturday morning, just before 4 a.m., on the 600 block of Corbit Drive, in the Cantwell Ridge neighborhood of Odessa, Delaware, according to officials. It began in one home and quickly spread to two other residences.Crews arrived to find flames devouring the first home.

DEPTFORD, N.J. - Law enforcement sources say a female police officer was shot in the leg Friday afternoon in Deptford, New Jersey. Early reports indicate that the shooting happened sometime after 1 p.m. on Doman Drive, a dead-end road that's within a residential neighborhood. The officer was taken to Cooper University Hospital.

MADISON COUNTY, Ill. - An Illinois man, who was reported missing for several months, was found dead Sunday night in a closet inside his home. Madison County Coroner's Office confirmed Richard Maedge, 53, had died by suicide.The department said Richard Maedge’s wife, Jennifer Maedge, reported him missing in April 2022. She told the Troy Police Department she last spoke with him the day before, when Richard Maedge called his wife and said he was leaving work early. However, she couldn't find or contact him after she returned to their house in Troy, where his car was parked outside and his wallet and keys were left behind.Troy Police Department then initiated an investigation into the disappearance of Richard Maedge.According FOX affiliate KTVI, police searched the home at the time but found no trace of him.
