Minister for Education Norma Foley has said that antigen testing in schools has not been recommended by public health officials at this point, but should that advice change, then the Government will meet that change.
Speaking on RTÉ's Today with Claire Byrne programme, Ms Foley said that all of the mitigation measures that are currently in schools have been reviewed and recommended by public health, including the use of ventilation.
Ms Foley said that teachers and staff should exercise their judgement around ventilation, and a practical approach is being advocated at this point whereby windows should be open before and after class.
