PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are seeking three more suspects after they arrested one for a carjacking that they say ended in a police pursuit. On Saturday, around 9 p.m., officers from the 6th district responded to the 1200 block of Poplar Street for a carjacking. When responding officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the victim about the stolen car information and the description for the suspects. When one of the officers went over the radio to inform the district of the car details, another officer observed the stolen car traveling southbound on Broad Street. Authorities say the officer activated his lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the stolen car when the offenders took off at a high rate of speed. MORE HEADLINES The pursuit ended at 700 Chester Pike in Prospect Park after the offenders crashed into a fence, according to police. After the crash, police say four offenders fled from the car, but one suspect was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

SOMERS POINT, N.J. - Somers Point Police have launched an investigation after they say a woman died on Saturday morning. Shortly after 7 a.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of 3rd Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a woman who had been shot inside a residence. Authorities say the victim was pronounced dead on scene. Officials with the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office say there is no threat to the public, and they are asking anyone with information to contact them as they investigate the shooting.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating several shootings from Saturday night to early Sunday morning that left five people dead, including a 14-year-old boy. An early-morning shooting on Sunday left a man dead, marking the fifth person to be killed in Philadelphia since Saturday night.Shortly before 5 a.m., police responded to the 2500 block of North Franklin Street for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they say they located a man who had been shot at least eight times. Medics transported the victim to Temple University Hospital where authorities say he was pronounced dead just after 7 a.m. This shooting came hours after a violent Saturday night left four others dead. The weekend gun violence began around 8:30 p.m.

OVERBROOK - A 14-year-old boy died after someone shot him in the chest in Overbrook.19th District officers were called to the 6000 block of Haddington Lane, in Philadelphia’s Overbrook section Saturday night, around 8:30, on the report of a shooting, according to authorities.When they got on scene, they found a 14-year-old boy on the street suffering with two gunshot wounds to the chest.Police rushed him to Lankenau Medical Center where the boy died from his injuries.Police say an active investigation is unfolding. There are no details regarding any suspects.

FREDERICK, Md. - One person is dead after a major crash and tanker explosion in Frederick County Saturday that sent a large plume of smoke in the air and caused back-ups on US Route 15.According to Maryland Department of Transportation officials, the crash happened on US Route 15 Rosemont Avenue near Schley Avenue in Frederick.Frederick County Fire Officials confirmed that a tanker truck involved in the crash exploded at the scene.Maryland State Police later confirmed that the driver of the tanker truck died as a result of the crash.No other injuries or deaths have been reported.Police also said that several vehicles and homes in the area suffered damage as a result of the flames.As a result, all lanes of US 15 between Rt 50 and 7th Street are shut down.(PHOTO: Chris Olson @COlson2848) Officials say the road will be closed for an extended period.The cause of the crash remains under investigation.According to FOX 5's Matthew Cappucci the smoke plume got to about 3,600 feet and was spotted on weather radar traveling east away from Frederick along I-70.This is a developing story.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is in critical condition after a single shot was fired through his own front door early Saturday morning.Police were called to the 2000 block of Champlost Avenue for a reported shooting just before 2 a.m.They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - A beach goer may have helped save the life of a little seal in need earlier this week on a Delaware beach.The young male harp seal was found rolling on its back in the sand of the North Shores in Rehoboth Beach on Tuesday. Officials say this can often be a sign that the seal is infested with lice. "Luckily for the seal, the beach goer called MERR to report this little guy," said Rob Rector, a Protected Species Observer.RELATED COVERAGE: 'Silly seal alert!' Patricia Kopta (Ross Township Police Department) A Pennsylvania woman who went missing more than 30 years ago in a case that stumped authorities who later declared her legally dead has been found living in a nursing home in Puerto Rico.Patricia Kopta left behind a husband and siblings and meandered through northern Puerto Rico for a while before she was taken as a person "in need" to the adult care home in 1999, according to details announced at a news conference this week in Ross Township, where she once lived.Kopta, once known as a street preacher in her hometown, initially kept her past secret while in Puerto Rico. But she began to divulge details as she suffered progressively from dementia, Ross Township Deputy Police Chief Brian Kohlhepp said.By last year, a social worker at the home had enough information to alert authorities back home about the now-83-year-old woman.

BUCKEYE, Ariz. - The adoptive mother of a boy who went missing in 2016 and was later found dead in 2018 in Buckeye has been arrested, police said.On Dec. 13, Buckeye Police announced that 54-year-old Crystal Wilson was arrested at her home in Gainesville, Georgia in connection to the death of Jesse Wilson.Crystal Wilson was indicted by a Maricopa County Grand Jury and is accused of abandoning or concealing a body.

York Regional Police say 64 Mexican-born nationals have been rescued from an international labour trafficking ring that was operating in Ontario and several people have been charged.Deputy police chief Alvaro Almeida told reporters on Friday that the information learned through Project Norte was “just as disturbing as it is compelling.”“Sixty-four of them were subject to deplorable living conditions with no way out,” Almeida said. “Our members were shocked at the conditions they were living in.”“These workers are coerced with promises of a better life, decent wages, quality housing, and eventually documentation,” Almeida continued.

CHICAGO - The man accused of killing Chicago police officer Andres Vasquez-Lasso was ordered held without bond Friday afternoon after prosecutors disclosed new details of the deadly confrontation near a playground at a grade school in Gage Park.A Cook County judge denied bond to Steven Montano who has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated discharge of a firearm and two other misdemeanors seaming from the Wednesday shooting.The decision happened roughly an hour after the body of Vasquez Lasso was taken with a police escort from the Cook County medical examiner's office to a funeral home in Oak Lawn.Montano, 18, is charged with gunning down Vasquez-Lasso as he was being chased by the officer in the 5200 block of South Spaulding Avenue near Sawyer Elementary School.During the bond hearing, prosecutors said Montano and a 37-year-old woman he was dating began arguing about their relationship and living arrangement.An 18-year-old man has been charged in the shooting death of a Chicago police officer in the city's Gage Park neighborhood.Montano allegedly tried to strike his girlfriend who stepped out of the way, according to the bond proffer. RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. - A tense three-county police chase ends with a suspect in custody – but not before the man went on a dangerous crime spree that included shooting at various Southern California locations Friday afternoon.SkyFOX was over the scene in Harbor City in Los Angeles County where the suspect hit one of the cruisers chasing him and then smashed into a pole.Prior to the man's arrest, the suspect initially led authorities on the chase in Riverside County and other parts of the Inland Empire before making their way to Orange County and Los Angeles County. At one point during the chase, the suspect stopped at an intersection near the Lakewood-Long Beach area as a group of children crossed the street.
