It has just been announced that two of the American Idol contestants have tested positive for COVID-19.
At the beginning of the episode that aired on Sunday (May 8), host Ryan Seacrest announced that two contestants of this season’s Top 7 have tested positive for the virus.
Despite not being able to perform on stage, the two contestants will still have their performances aired during the show. Click inside to read more… It was revealed that Noah Thompson and Fritz Hager have been both tested positive for COVID. Noah Thompson Fritz Hager Ryan explained that Noah started feeling sick earlier this week and that he will be performing his two songs live from his hotel room. Fritz‘s symptoms began closer to right before the show was supposed to start, so his rehearsal footage will be used for his performances.
After his performances, Fritz will be appearing via satellite from his hotel room to hear the judges’ comments. Ryan also explained that both Noah and Fritz are eligible to receive votes tonight just like the other five contestants performing.
