The donation, announced Thursday, will go to Backstage Heroes, an initiative launched by German magazine Stern and supported by such German entertainment personalities as actor/director Michael Bully Herbig, actress Veronica Ferres, and singer Nico Santos.The money is earmarked to help those who work behind the scenes at movie productions, concerts, and other events that have been delayed or canceled due to the COVID-19 crisis.

PHILADELPHIA - No one was injured after a gunman opened fire on a Philadelphia police officer during a shootout Wednesday afternoon in Germantown.Philadelphia Police Sergeant Eric Gripp told reporters that two plainclothes officers in an unmarked car were patrolling the 4800 block of Keyser Street around 2 p.m. when they came upon a shootout between a 23-year-old and a 20-year-old.
