Gardaí have seized a large amount of alcohol during a search of a Dublin premises that was allegedly operating as a restaurant.
They said that breaches of the Covid-19 regulations were observed and the premises was in breach of pre-existing Liquor Licensing legislation.
Gardaí began carrying out spot check of pubs and restaurants on Friday evening as part of Operation Navigation. The searches are being carried out to check if they are adhering to the public health guidelines for Covid-19.
The move came after concern was expressed that some premises were flouting Covid-19 restrictions. At present, pubs are only allowed serve alcohol to customers who purchase a "substantial" meal costing at least €9.
