BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - COVID-19 cases are rising in every state, but especially in Alabama — one of the states with the poorest vaccination rate.
While fielding questions Thursday, Gov. Kay Ivey placed the blame squarely on the unvaccinated."Folks are supposed to have common sense.
But it’s time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks, not the vaccinated folks," Ivey said. Data collected by Johns Hopkins University shows Alabama has tallied more than 10,000 new cases in the last two weeks.
According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, 1.9 million people have received a single dose of an FDA-authorized vaccine and just 1.5 million people have completed the vaccine series.Census records place Alabama’s population at 5.2 million people —.
