The government has no plans to reintroduce coronavirus restrictions in England despite rising cases, Downing Street has said.
It comes as the number of new daily coronavirus cases in the UK reached its highest level since mid-July. Downing Street said an increase in coronavirus cases had been expected over the winter and the government would keep a “close watch” on the situation.
