51 new cases of coronavirus in Scotland but no deaths for nearly a month

coronavirus have been recorded in Scotland in the last 24 hours however there was a rise of 51 new cases. The total number of cases of the virus now stands at 19,289 throughout the country.

244 people are currently being treated in hospital with three in intensive care units. The latest figures were announced by the Scottish Government this afternoon.

It comes after the cluster of coronavirus cases linked to an  Orkney fishing vessel  has grown by one, taking the total to six.

The incident management team met on Friday afternoon to discuss progress with contact tracing taking place across  NHS Highland, NHS Grampian and NHS Orkney.
