The number of patients in hospital with Covid-19 is relatively stable, according to the latest figures. There are 244 patients with the virus in hospital, with 30 of these in intensive care units.
According to the HSE, Cavan General Hospital has 31 patients with Covid-19, the largest number of any hospital. Other hospitals with large numbers are Cork University Hospital with 23 and Tallaght in Dublin with 19.
There are 31 vacant adult ICU beds in the system. The leaders of the three coalition parties will meet later today to discuss a recommendation by the National Public Health Emergency Team that the entire country moves to Level 5 of Covid-19 restrictions for six weeks.
