PHOENIX - In a unique situation for people of the Roman Catholic faith, a priest is resigning after the church's Phoenix Diocese determined the words he was using during baptisms are wrong, meaning those baptisms are now rendered invalid.Here's what you should know about the mix-up.In a statement released by officials with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, it was announced that all baptisms performed by a priest named Andres Arango until June 17, 2021 are presumed to be invalid due to the words that were used.At the center of the mix-up are the words "we" and "I." Diocesan officials say Arango should have used the following words during baptism:I baptize you in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.Instead, diocesan officials say Arango used the following words:We baptize you in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.Diocesan officials said baptisms performed by Arango after June 17, 2021 are presumed to be valid.In a letter to faithfuls, Phoenix Catholic Bishop Thomas Olmsted said the determination that baptisms performed by Arango are invalid was made "after careful study by diocesan officials and through consultation with the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in Rome."Diocesan officials say the word change made a big difference for them."It is not the community that baptizes a person and incorporates them into the Church of Christ; rather, it is Christ, and Christ alone, who presides at all sacraments; therefore, it is Christ who baptizes," diocesan officials said, on their website.

An American Airlines employee stabbed a co-worker at Boston Logan International Airport following a dispute between the pair, authorities said Tuesday. Kenrick Smith, 34, of Leominster, was arraigned hours later at the East Boston District Court, Massachusetts State Police spokesman David Procopio said in a statement. The incident occurred just before 1:30 p.m.

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced charges against five out-of-state residents accused of attempting to illegally get Pandemic Unemployment Assistance through funds from the CARES Act.Shapiro announced the charges against the five people on Tuesday in coordination with federal and local law enforcement agencies. A total of nine people conspired to illegally take PUA funds totaling $925,000. According to the Attorney General’s office, investigators learned seven of those people claimed to work for the same trucking company from January 2020 to March 2020. They then claimed their employment ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

PHILADELPHIA - Family and loved ones are searching for answers after a man was stabbed to death outside a South Philadelphia Wawa early Monday morning. The Philadelphia Police Department identified the 49-year-old victim as Roger Segal. According to a police source, video surveillance show Segal went inside the Wawa on South Columbus Boulevard around 2 a.m.

PHILADELPHIA - Police say a young girl was injured during a drive-by shooting at a North Philadelphia grocery store. Philadelphia Police Captain John Walker told reporters that the 12-year-old victim was entering a store on the 4600 block of Hurley Street when someone in a red car fired at least seven shots. According to Walker, the shooter is believed to have fired from the backseat of a red Acura.

Coachella and Stagecoach festivals have dropped all COVID-19 safety precautions ahead of both events making a return this spring.Coachella will take place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California between April 15-17 and 22-24, while Stagecoach will be held at the same venue between April 29-May 1.Previously, the festivals’ promoter Goldenvoice had announced that proof of vaccination against COVID-19 would no longer be required. Now, it has also dropped entry requirements including a negative test taken in the 72 hours prior to attendance and the wearing of masks.The health and safety guidance on the websites for both events has now been updated to confirm that the new policy is “in accordance with local guidelines”.

Bill Omar Carrasquillo, known to his fans and followers as 'Omi in a Hellcat' was named in a 62-count indictment last fall.  SWEDESBORO, N.J. - A New Jersey YouTube Star, known online as ‘Omi in a Hellcat’ says he has pleaded guilty in what federal prosecutors say was one of the largest illegal TV pirating rings they’ve ever seen.Bill Omar Carrasquillo took to his YouTube channel earlier this month to share the news that he had pleaded guilty in the case. "I’m letting you guys know that I’m pleading guilty," Carrasquillo said, adding that the decision came after long talks with his attorney. "It sucks to lose my house, to lose properties, money, all my cars, my jewelry – it’s an embarrassment," he added. "This is to kind of let you know man that you don’t want to take easy routes in life."Carrasquillo says in his video that he also did not pay his taxes and that his plea was about ‘accepting responsibility.’ He had previously claimed past accountants and tax preparers got him into tax trouble.  After a two-year investigation, the 34-year-old was named in a 62-count federal indictment.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia officials will announce changes to COVID-19 mitigation during their weekly coronavirus response briefing on Wednesday, according to Mayor Jim Kenney. The changes would come as health officials and Mayor Jim Kenney say case counts and positivity rates have continued to fall in Philadelphia. At the peak of the omicron surge, around Jan. 3, Philadelphia was reporting 38% positivity rates and approximately 2,600 daily cases. On Monday, the city reported a positivity rate of less than 3% and around 200 daily cases in recent weeks. "There will be some adjustments tomorrow," Kenney said Tuesday morning after attending a groundbreaking for a local playground. Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said Tuesday that he believes masks have helped keep people safe during the pandemic.  When asked if the time had come for the city’s mask mandates to end, Kenney credited the wearing of masks as playing an important role in the drop in case counts. "It only happened because of this discipline," Kenney said point to his 76ers themed facemask. Senior Director of Operations for Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association Ben Fileccia told FOX 29 on Monday that he expected Philadelphia officials to make an announcement Wednesday about metrics they will use to determine appropriate mandates going forward.On Tuesday, Kenney revealed that the city would be announcing some ‘numbers and data points’ in reference to possibly easing some restrictions on Wednesday.

PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police say a man had died after he was shot multiple times in broad daylight Tuesday.The incident occurred on the 500 block of East Duval Street in East Germantown around noon.Police say the victim, a 26-year-old man, was shot three times in the head. Responding paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. No arrests have been made and no weapons were recovered. The incident marks the second fatal shooting in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

WEST CHESTER, Pa. - A Chester County judge granted an injunction against Tower Health on Monday which breathed new life into the potential sale of two recently shuttered hospitals.Texas-based Canyon Atlantic sought to buy Brandywine and Jennersville hospitals last year, but Tower Health officials said the deal fell through, and both hospitals closed in Dec. and Jan. The closure raised concerns among residents and county officials alike that Chester County Hospital would have a hard time managing the influx of new patients. "This is a huge void now, and it’s going to create some serious challenges for patients that would normally be 10 minutes away are going to have to go 30 minutes away, it’s going to put a lot of pressure on EMS," Former Director of Pastoral Care at Brandywine Hospital Reverend Garry Fowler said. Chester County Hospital vouched for a modular emergency room in its parking lot to add additional beds, a move that was unanimously supported by the West Goshen Township Board of Supervisors.Tower Health closed Brandywine Hospital on Monday night, leaving the Chester County community concerned about the availability of healthcare.

Nikki Bella is opening up about fiancé Artem Chigvintsev's ongoing struggle with pneumonia. Nikki and her sister, Brie Bella, spoke with ET's Lauren Zima on Saturday at the 2022 Fanatics Super Bowl Party in Culver City, California, and the 38-year-old TV personality and pro wrestler shared some news about Artem's «terrifying» and persistent case of pneumonia.«He's doing well. Bobby Andrew Johnson, 25, was sentenced to six to 15 years in state prison for selling five handguns he stole from unlocked cars in Bucks County.  (Bucks County District Attorney's Office)BUCKS COUNTY, Pa - A 25-year-old man was sentenced to six to 15 years in state prison on Monday for stealing five handguns and selling them, authorities said. According to the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, Bobby Andrew Johnson, formerly of Richlandtown, stole handguns and other objects from unlocked cars in Upper Bucks County from April 2018 to September 2018.Johnson is accused of selling five stolen handguns, including one which was found at the home of a minor, according to the DA. During an investigation into stolen guns in multiple counties, police were led to Johnson, who admitted he took items from cars and made about $30,000 in profits. A previous 2015 felony burglary conviction also prevented Johnson from being able to possess a firearm. He pleaded guilty to multiple charges including five counts each of not to possess a firearm, illegal sale or transfer of firearms, theft by unlawful taking, theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. In addition to his sentence, Commons Pleas Judge Theodore C. Fritsch ordered Johnson to pay $1,785 in restitution.
